According to new research in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, more Americans are using aspirin regularly to prevent cardiovascular disease. Aspirin use among those with diabetes is also increasing to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. The study found more than a third of U.S. adults overall use either a daily or every other day aspirin.
So how can you get over that new onset of low back pain quickly? Well, new research shows good old fashioned heat can do the trick. Researchers at Johns Hopkins school of medicine showed the use of continuous low-level heat wrap therapy, or CLHT, significantly reduces acute low back pain and related disability.
Researchers looked at employees in physically demanding jobs suffering from acute—or new onset-- low back pain. Patients on CLHT showed a 52 percent reduction in pain intensity and a 43 percent improvement in pain relief within one day of treatment as compared to those not getting it. Approximately 50 percent of working-age people in the United States are reported to suffer from acute low back pain every year.

There was no relationship between risk of glioma and lifetime years of use, cumulative number of calls, or hours of use. The results are published online by the British Medical Journal.
And who’s healthier? Beer or wine drinkers? Well, according to new research people who buy wine also buy healthier food and therefore have healthier diets than people who buy beer. Studies have shown that drinking wine is associated with lower mortality than drinking beer or spirits. Maybe it’s because, as this study showed, wine buyers bought more olives, fruits and vegetables, poultry, cooking oil, and low fat cheese, milk, and meat than beer buyers.
So, the health benefits of drinking wine may be due to other lifestyle factors such as smoking, physical activity, education, as well as diet choices. Beer buyers bought more ready cooked dishes, sugar, cold cuts, chips, pork, butter or margarine, sausages, lamb, and soft drinks than wine buyers. Sounds like it’s more fun to be a beer drinker.
